A ghostly challenge awaits young explorers brave enough to solve puzzles to stop a zombie infestation. Watford Borough Council wants you to take on this mighty challenge to save the people of the town – and the world. Teams of four are invited to explore the shadowy depths of Watford Museum – housed in the former premises of the historic Benskins Brewery – during the event on Friday, February 17. Your adventure can begin at 5.30pm, 6.15pm or 7pm at the spooky venue in 194 Lower High Street. The ghosts will include a burning lady, miserable monk, plague-ridden peasant and the Cassiobury Estate’s 7th Earl of Essex, George Capell – after he was tragically killed by a taxi. Karen Collett, portfolio holder for community, said: “We staged this event in Watford’s Whippendell Woods in 2015, and it was fantastic scary fun. I’ve heard that this time the ghosts and the zombies are going to be spookier than ever – I wouldn’t want to be confronted by them, that’s for sure. “It would take a brave soul to complete a mission such as this, but someone’s got to save the world. Please do sign up so that the zombies don’t take over our planet.” To book your place, or ask for more information, email cassiobury@watford.gov.uk. The cost is £20 per team, payable on the night. The event is for ages six and older.
