TWO CHARGED FOLLOWING DISORDER IN WATFORD

Two men have been charged following disorder in the Exchange Road area of Watford on Tuesday night (August 9).
 
As part of reassurance patrols officers were in the area and responded quickly to reports from members of the public at around 8.50pm that a number of vehicles had been damaged. 13 people were arrested.
 
21 year old Matthew Tibble from Charter Place in Watford has been charged with having an article with intent to destroy or damage.
 
33 year old Phil Padon of no fixed address is charged with violent disorder.
 
11 other people are currently on bail pending further inquiries.

Painted faces and Multicoloured cows-A festival of peace in these troubled times

Jersey diary cows at Bhaktivedanta Manor will be decorated for the largest Hindu Festival outside India. The Manor has the largest Cow Protection farm in Britain.

Over 60,000 pilgrims and guests will visit Bhaktivedanta Manor Hare Krishna Temple on Sunday 21s and Monday 22nd August to celebrate Krishna’s birthday called, Janmashtami.

In the Children’s area, thousand’s children will have their faces painted blue, many carrying flutes and wearing peacock feathers in their hair, dressing like Lord Krishna as part of the festive spirit!

PARTYING IN THE PARK

Want to see some free entertainment this summer? A range of musicians and dance acts will take to the stage in Bushey soon.

Following the success of Party in the Park in July this year, the second live event is set to take place on Friday 19 August at The Moatfield, located between Moatfield Road and Bournehall Lane, in Bushey from 2pm to 6pm.

Turbo, who was a finalist in the Sky One Got to Dance programme, will be performing along with the other acts at the event.

Cllr Brenda Batten, Leisure and Culture portfolio holder, said: “The event in July was a huge success. The summer holidays can be an expensive time of year, for both parents and young people, so attending Party in the Park is a great way of getting out and about without spending any money.

POLICE APPEAL AFTER CAR THEFT IN WATFORD

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a theft from a car in St Albans Road,
Watford on Monday, August 8.
 
The incident took place between 2.25pm and 2.40pm when the owner of a silver Peugeot van left his vehicle parked and locked outside Aptab plumbers. As he was away from the van, a man smashed the driver’s window and removed an envelope containing a large sum of money.
 
The offender got into a slate grey, five series BMW which was waiting on the road nearby. As the offender climbed into the BMW, the car’s engine was running and a number of cars were held up behind it.

ROBBERY IN BOREHAMWOOD

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a robbery in Torworth Road, Borehamwood on Thursday, August 4.
 
The incident took place at approximately 10am when a 60-year-old woman from Borehamwood was walking along the road and was approached from behind by a man who pushed her to the ground and stole her bag before running off across Torworth Green.

CCTV RELEASED OF MISSING ALAN SPRAY

Police are releasing CCTV footage of missing Alan Spray as part of continuing efforts to trace him.

The CCTV footage is taken from the Total garage on Verulam Road in St Albans at around 8.10pm on Saturday, July 30. This is the last confirmed sighting of him.

Alan is described as white, approximately 5ft 9ins tall, is balding on top with grey hair to the side and wears light reactive glasses. He was described as wearing a brown and blue checked short sleeve shirt and brown/grey trousers. He may be carrying a book.

Detective Inspector Simon Warwick said: "It is now over a week since Alan was last seen and whilst we remain hopeful he will be found safe and well, understandably concerns for his welfare are increasing.
